Samsung Announces Successful Test of 5G breakthrough, to be available for Commercial Market by 2020

South Korean based Samsung Electronics announced that it had tested ultra fast 5th generation (5G) wireless technology that would surely lead its users to enjoy unbelievable download speed.                        On this Monday, the South Korean based Samsung Electronics announced that it had tested ultra fast 5th generation (5G) wireless technology that would surely lead its users to enjoy unbelievable download speed. Eventually the users will be allowed to download a very large file even an entire movie in one second only. Cool eh??

The electronics giant mentioned that the said test had witnessed data transmission at the rate of more than 1 gb/sec over a distance of two kms, which is currently the best speed available in the planet.

In its statement, the company admitted that this new technology will not be ready for the end users any time soon. It said that it will take at least 2020 to be ready for the commercial market, and it’s aiming to launch commercialized 5G by then. This super fast technology would offer data transmitting speeds up to a few hundred times faster than the currently available 4G networks.

The following is a small excerpt of what the parental body of the Galaxy S4 actually said in its recently published statement.

“This new technology will permit users to transmit massive data files including high quality digital movies practically without limitation. As a result, subscribers will be able to enjoy a wide range of services such as 3D movies and games, real-time streaming of ultra high-definition (UHD) content, and remote medical services."

Samsung added that it had eventually developed a breakthrough that would be able to harness millimeter-wave bands. These bands have already proved to be a sticking point for the entire mobile device industry to date.

The ‘mmWave Mobile Technology’ is the very first system that expects to be fully-tested. Eventually many tech experts and scientists has been experimenting and researching on 5G technology in laboratories located in various countries for some time now. In fact Britain’s University of Surrey already funded £35m for a particular research centre, which was backed by tech giants like Huawei, Samsung, Telefonica and others. However, the scientists have agreed on ther point that till now high-frequency wavebands were generally not preferable for long-distance communication requirements.

Around 64 antenna particles were used during the test to make it possible. The ultimate tech giant mentioned that usage of these antennas helped a lot to overcome the most difficult issue of unfavorable propagation characteristics. It has to be mentioned here that these are the characteristics that have created an obstacle for the travelling of data across long areas using the bands that I’ve mentioned earlier.

We should know that currently South Korea is having a very large number 4G users, which is around 20 million. Eventually the country is also one of the most wired countries on the planet, and now with this successful test of 5G technology it has proved its supreme dominancy on data transmission speeds over the other countries.

Some major leading countries like China and the United Kingdom (UK) have not completed their 4G network roll out yet, but with this newly announcement from the Samsung the process might find acceleration.
