7 million died because of Air pollution: WHO

7 million died because of air pollution read how it is possible in a data released by WHOIn a recent data released by WHO on 25th march 2014 claimed that in 2012 total of 7 million people died (1 in 8 persons who died) because of air pollution. If we can curb air pollution we can save million lives suggested by World health organization.
The data released by WHO linked air pollution with cancer. It is also claimed that Air-pollution is the biggest environmental health risk at this time. The estimate includes both the Air-pollution, indoor and outdoor and it causes many severe diseases, such as, Strokes and several kinds of heart diseases.

Highlight of the study by WHO.

According to WHO Western pacific Regions and South-East Asia have the largest threat of Air-Pollution. Most of them are Developing Countries or Low and middle income Countries. The shocking fact is indoor air pollution caused more deaths than outdoor air pollution. Outdoor air pollution caused 2.6 million deaths and indoor air pollution caused 3.3 million deaths.

Diseases caused by indoor air pollution:-

6%   à lung cancer.
12% à acute lower respiratory infections in children
22% à chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
26% à heart disease
34% à Stroke.

Diseases Caused by Outdoor air pollution:-

3% à  acute lower respiratory infections in children
6% à lung cancer
11% à COPD
40% à stroke
40% à  ischaemic heart disease.


The data also includes how pollution creating these diseases. The info based on evidence of health risks from the exposure of air pollution and latest data from 2012. This study also has been done in different part of the world. The info mapping also includes ground-level monitoring measurements, satellite data etc. So the governments of the countries in this world should think about this matter other than their defense system because no weapon  can save you from air pollution.
