Samsung Galaxy S4 |
The leading smartphone making company Samsung has
finally launched its brand new flagship smartphone, which is named as Galaxy S4 in India on 26th April. This launch is basically an
integral part of the global rollout
of the same device. The Galaxy S4 has eventually gone on sale in the markets
the United Sates (US) and some European countries.
Earlier Samsung hasn’t revealed what would be the cost of the device in Indian market. There were speculations that it might cost a little more than Rs 40,000. Today the South Korean technology giant launched the device in Indian market with a price tag of Rs 41,500. From tomorrow noon it will be available in retail stores as well as online for all common people.
The company stated that by the end of this
month the newly-launched device will go on sale in over 50 countries. The experts are expecting that it will be able to
take over the whole smartphone market with a very successful launch period. It has to be mentioned here that
Samsung has eventually reported a profit
of 42% in the last quartet, which is simply incredible.
Samsung has two different versions of Galaxy S4; the
first one is powered by a Qualcomm S600
processor while the other one is powered by Samsung's very own 8-core Exynos processor. For the Indian
market Samsung is launching the Exynos
version of the Galaxy S4. This smartphone device will comprise of 2GB RAM and 16GB internal
storage, which can easily be extended up to 64GB with the help of micro
SD card. The device also has a 5-inch
super AMOLED touch screen with Full HD
compatible resolution. It has dual camera support too; the front can take 2MP images, while the rear camera is
able to shoot pictures in 13 mega pixels.
Galaxy S4 is powered by Google’s very popular Android operating system. This new device is the
successor to Galaxy S III, and the
Korean giant company is aiming to sell at least 10 million Galaxy S4 units within one month of launch.
According to CyberMedia Research,
Samsung is currently top smartphone
making company in India, and it has a share of 43% in Indian smartphone
market at the end period of the previous year (2012).
Presently Samsung and Apple are fighting hard for the top position in
Indian market. Eventually Apple accelerated its operations in India last year
with a few aggressive schemes, including price cuts on previous versions of iPhones. The main aim of the Apple was to boost up
the sale numbers of its smartphones in Indian market. Samsung too responded
well enough to hold its top position by introducing its own encouraging schemes,
including zero interest EMIs and 15%
cash back for several Galaxy devices on using a credit card.
Samsung is hoping to extend its lead over Apple in Indian market with this launch of Galaxy S4, as Apple doesn’t have
any plan of introducing a new iPhone
anytime soon.
The new Galaxy S4 has the top of the line hardware, and as per Samsung
it has some unique features like multi-window
view, smart stay and air gestures. It is powered by Android Version 4.2.2, and it’s fully
customized with Touchwiz user
interface.
Mr. JK Shin, who is the CEO of IT and Mobile division at
Samsung, said, “At Samsung, we are
committed to innovation and to our consumers... we innovate to give the
products that meet their needs,"
Galaxy S4 will have to compete against HTC One too, as this new device of HTC has already received praise
and thumbs up from several technology reviewers for its camera performance, design
and a few other unique features such as Zoe. HTC One is priced at Rs 42,990 for the Indian market, and it
is expected that it will be available
by the end of April 2013.
Samsung has eventually made the buying
of Galaxy S4 very much interesting, as with every single purchase of this
device from the company’s eStore,
the buyer will earn a special accessory bundle for absolutely free of cost. In
fact various online shopping portals like Flipkart,
Infibeam, and Snapdeal have put the model on sale with easy EMI options specifically for those people who aren’t be able
to provide the full price at a go.
