UR Rao, Indian Space Scientist Inducted into Satellite Hall of Fame

 
Indian Space Scientist UR Rao has been inducted into Satellite Hall of Fame in Washington DC in US by the Society of Satellite Professionals International.

                       UR Rao, who is one of the top most space scientists of India, has been inducted into Satellite Hall of Fame in Washington DC of the United States of America by the Society of Satellite Professionals International.

Today Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) published a statement to publish this news of honor. The following is a small excerpt of what ISRO said in its latest statement,

"Rao is the first Indian space scientist to be inducted into the Satellite Hall of Fame and joins the select group of about 50 members, including Arthur C. Clarke, Van Allen, Harold Rosen, Peter Jackson and Robert Berry, among others."  

Mr. UR Rao is the active Chairman of the Physical Research Laboratory i.e. situated in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. UR Rao is a very well known space scientist, and he has been contributing to the development process of Advanced Indian space technology and its key application to communications and all important remote sensing of all possible and available natural resources since 1960s.

He is a very dedicated scientist, and a very respectable name in the genre of Space researches. He is one of the leading personalities, and was sole fully responsible for the creation of country’s space and satellite capabilities, and their application. This application contributed a lot in the overall development procedure of India’s space success. It has to be mentioned here that India’s first Space Weather Reading Centre to be set up in Kolkata.

He served almost a decade (1984-94) as the Chairman of ISRO, and he was responsible of establishing satellite technology in India. He leaded India to achieve a few great milestones, and as a good result of that today the modern India is considered as one of the fore most countries in Space Research field.

In the year of 1992 as the Chairman of ISRO, Rao had taken the imitative of launching ASLV rocket and the operational PSLV launch vehicle. Thus he provided a new era by accelerating the development of rocket technology in India.

Mr. UR Rao inherited the idea of using space technology in the key sectors like broadcasting, remote sensing, disaster warning, education and meteorology. This idea worked, and these sectors got innumerous number of benefits. He served as countrymen to his optimum possible level by providing good usage of space technology that brought up the speed and accuracy.
