We all know the famous writer Khushwant Singh. Am I right? Well he is an
Indian journalist and author, one of the foremost of the Indo-Anglian writers.
He is one of the best writers of our era. His narrations are awesome, and the
stories, which he usually delivers via his books, are always mind blowing.
Recently a new feather of honor added to his crown, as he was felicitated with
a prestigious award by the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Akhilesh Yadav.
Eventually the CM Yadav
went to the Sujan Singh Park residence of the noted writer to present him the
award. The said ceremony was held in a closed door atmosphere. It was brief
too. Yadav presented the 97-year-old Singh a shawl along with a citation.
All-India Minorities Forum has instituted this
annual award. It is awarded to people from the minority communities for furthering
the cause of national integration and mutual understanding. It is a good thing
to felicitate the person irrespective of his/her cast or religion.
Both
the CM Akhilesh and the writer Singh expressed their happiness after the
ceremony. The writer deserves every bit of felicitation that he is receiving.
Some of the books of Khushwant Singh are Delhi: A Novel, The Companyof Women, The SunsetClub, Agnostic Khushwant:There Is No God!
My favorite book of Mr. Khushwant Singh is “Train to Pakistan”. This is a novel that depicts the effects of the
horrific events surrounding the Partition on the lives of ordinary people. Just
read the book and send me your thoughts about it.
The latest book of Khushwant Singh ‘Khushwantnama:The Lessons of My Life’
