India
and China has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Technical
Cooperation in Railway Sector. Considering the present scenario (which is quite
worse) of the Indian Railway, this MoU may help to improve the overall
condition in that sector.
The
Railway Sector is any day one of the most important sector of any country and
to walk on the path of development it should be developed with time
accordingly.
Mr. Vinay Mittal, who is the
Chairman of Railway Board, Ministry of Railways, Government of India, has
signed the MoU on behalf of India, while Mr. Wang Zhiguo, Vice Minister,
Ministry of Railways, Government of the Republic of China, signed on behalf of
China. Both the signatories expressed their happiness on the MoU.
According to the MoU, both the countries will enhance mutual cooperation
across the various key areas of Rail Technology. The technologies which are
included in the said MoU are like High Speed Rail, Heavy Haulage and Station
Development. That’s not all the two sides even undertake exchange of various
information on important policies, and training. Many exchange programmes, site
visits and joint symposiums will be arranged by both of the parties.
It has to be mentioned here that both the country have agreed to the
future cooperation on railways. They will carry the mutual bonding under the
Infrastructure Working Group constituted under the India-China Strategic
Economic Dialogue.
The MoU will remain actively in force for five long years from the date
of signing. We hope it will help both the parties in a really big way. Such
MoUs are the need of any developing nation, as it gives the momentum to the
growth rate.
