Microsoft India is likely to stop sales of Windows 7

There may be a bad news for all the lovers of the windows 7 operating system, as Microsoft Corporation is planning to phase out windows 7 from the retail market in the next one month or so. The director of windows business group Mr Amrish Goyal has stated it on Tuesday.

He added that the company is providing its consumers the choice of upgrading windows 7 PC. The users of Windows 7 versions, who purchased their version between June 12, 2012 to January 2013, can easily upgrade to recently launched Operating System Windows 8 for a very nominal cost. A recent market survey proved that almost half of the PC users of India now operate their daily works on Windows 7.

“The hardware for both Windows 7 and Windows 8 are the same”, Goyal said. So there will be no hardware or compatibility issues in upgrading. He eventually claimed that this version will work more smoothly than ever. It will offer better performance than all other ongoing Operating Systems, he added.

There are around 670 million users of windows 7 globally since it’s launched in 2009. Mr. Goyal was also asked about the future of phones that are already operating on Windows 7. On its reply he stated that the phones will be upgraded to Windows 7.8. It has to be mentioned here that Windows Phone 8 has already been launched globally.
