India and Egypt has signed a MoU for Poll Management cooperation

India has signed a MoU along with the Arabian country Egypt recently. The MoU is aiming for cooperation in the field of electoral management and administration. To be precise this MoU will benefit both the countries to conduct their respective polls smoothly.

India’s Chief Election Commissioner V.S. Sampath and Secretary General of Egypt’s Election Committee Hatem Bagato signed the MoU on behalf of their respective countries. Both of them said that this is an essential one and it will be beneficial for both the countries.

Eventually under the terms and conditions of the MoU, which has been signed, both the countries will share their respective knowledge and experience, including technology which they used in elections. That’s not all, the pact also provides for the very crucial prevention of fraud and voter education.

The electoral bodies of India and Egypt will have a mutual exchange program between them, and it is very much likely that this exchange program will go a long way in improving and updating the election process to ensure conduct of free and fair polls, which is the most important part.

Election Commission of India has already signed 13 MOUs with various Election Management Bodies and International Organizations across the globe. It has to be mentioned here that India and Egypt are already collaborating in the areas like Electronic Voting, Voters Education and Election Tracking Technology.
