The Government acclaimed passenger bus service to Myanmar

The government of India acclaimed starting a passenger bus service to Myanmar and increasing the total number of flights to the neighboring country. The cabinet also applauded the proposal for introduction of bus service in its meeting. It will eventually tighten the bonding of two countries, as now the communication gap will reduce in a high manner for sure.

The said proposal, which was mooted by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, is for signing a MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with the neighboring country for the introduction of passenger bus service between Imphal (Manipur) and Mandalay (Myanmar).

Eventually the Union Cabinet has also given its necessary approval to the air services agreement with the neighboring country and has allowed operation of more number of flights to Myanmar. The revised air service agreement would enable various Indian Carriers to operate more flights from different cities of India to Myanmar.

The agreement will also enable Indian airlines to fly onwards from Myanmar to other destinations in South East Asia. Considering the present situation, domestic airlines can only fly between India and Myanmar.
