India earns the privilege of having three of top five airports of the world providing awesome international level services. Airports of Delhi, Mumbai and Hyderabad, these three Indian airports are included among the world’s five best airports list, due to the superb facilities of these airports.

The list was prepared by the Airports Council International (ACI), which is a global body of all the airports of the world. In the category of airports, which handle around 25-40 Million Passengers Per Annum (MPPA), Seoul’s Incheon airport earned the pole position because of it supreme service quality for the year 2012. Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport had managed to claim the second position in the list.

According to the ACI statement, Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport was the third best in the mentioned category. Two Indian airports were featured in the world’s top three airports list in the category of airports having the handling power of 25-40 MPPA. It is quite a commendable achievement for sure.

In the category of handling power of 5-15 MPPA, Rajiv Gandhi International airport (RGI) of Hyderabad snatched the second position for their ultra modern top level service qualities. In this category Japan's Nagoya airport was honored as the best airport of the world.

For the Asia-Pacific Region in the 'Best Airports by Region' across all categories Delhi airport was ranked fourth. The top three airports of the world for this category were Seoul's Incheon (1st), Singapore's Changi (2nd) and China’s Beijing (3rd).

Airports Council International (ACI) is basically an autonomous body, which works independently to measure the feedback of the customers on the range of service delivery parameters. The body also tracks and monitors the customer experience at a specific airport from the moment of arrival to the departure gate.

ACI had undertaken a survey, which was named as The Annual Service Quality Passenger Survey. On the base of this survey it had prepared the list of World’s best airports. Inclusion of three Indian airports in the list of top five airports of the world has sent a clear message that India is becoming a developing nation on a very steady rate now.

First this ‘real time’ data had been recorded on the day of travel. After that the body analyzed the whole data while keeping in the find some of the other factors. This will basically serve as a guide for more improved top international standard service provision with the expectation of the passengers or the customers.

It has to be mentioned here that the annual Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards have already become leading airport passenger satisfaction benchmark of the whole world. This award mainly recognizes the best airports in the world according to the ACI’s ASQ passenger satisfaction survey.
