Five
Indian airports complete their way to get the status of International Airport.
The Union Cabinet recently approved granting of International Airport status to
five airports, which are situated in Lucknow, Varanasi, Mangalore,
Tiruchirapalli and Coimbatore. This is one of the important steps of modernized
India.
All the
above mentioned airports are well-capable of handling small to medium capacity-range,
long-range type aircraft. Not only that these airports are also equipped with
the facilities for night operations too.
This up-gradation
of these airports to the International standards is very much likely. This
declaration of approval has huge expectation too. It is expected to provide a
huge boost to domestic or international tourism. It will eventually contribute
a lot to the economic development of the concerned regions.
The name
of the airports, which the Civil Aviation Ministry had proposed to grant
International airport status are, Chaudhary Charan Singh airport in Lucknow,
Lal Bahadur Shastri Airport in Varanasi, Mangalore, Tiruchirapalli and
Coimbatore.
This move
will surely attract more and more tourists as now there will be much better
services and facilities in these airports. Indian Aviation Market has already
seen its worst day in this running year only. Most of the companies are running
in losses. So this move is a very necessary one for sure.
