Free Railway passes for the Civilian Chakra Awardees

                   Indian Railway Ministry recently decided to give special complementary passes to the civilian recipients of gallantry awards of entire Chakra series. This is a nice step taken by the Railways, as these brave-hearted people deserve this type of special treatment.

                   As per extant policy, Railway Ministry provides 1^st Class and 2^nd AC Complementary Card passes to Defence personnel recipients of gallantry awardees of honorable Chakra series. These series are Param Vir Chakra, Maha Vir Chakra, Vir Chakra, Ashok Chakra, Kirti Chakra and Shaurya Chakra. The pass will come with the facility of life-long free rail travel experience in 1^st Class or 2^nd AC Class along with one companion in same class. It is applicable to the all Indian Railways.

                 The procedure and the conditions for issue of such passes to Civilian Chakra Awardees will remain the same as applicable to Defence Awardees.
