 China launches space drug laboratory

                China has set up a laboratory to conduct research on medicines for astronauts during space missions.


               The laboratory, housed in china astronaut centre here was opened. The construction began in 2009.

               It is country’s first laboratory dedicated to aerospace medical research, according Li Yinghui, a senior scientist with china manned space engineering project.


Pakistan has decided to import power from India

                 The Pakistan government has decided in-principal to import up to 500 MW electricity from India, with the World Bank agreeing to fund the constructions of infrastructure needed for trade in energy between the two said countries.


                 According to the water and power Minister Syed Naveed Quamar, Pakistan has made an “in-principle” decision to import electricity from India to meet its growing energy requirements.

                He made the remarks during a meeting with a delegation from the Indian farmed global energy that was led by Hary Dhaul, who is the founder and director general of the Independent Power Producers Association of India (IPPAI).

               Pakistanis facing difficulties due to the shortage of electricity and the early import of power from India will help in bridging the demand-supply gap. Pakistan may initially import up to 500 MW from India.


China cements ties with turkey, agrees to build n-reactor

              Turkey, which in 2009 termed the crackdown against Uyghur Muslims in china’s restive Xinjiang province as ‘genocide’, has decided to deepen its bilateral ties with Beijing, including inking a deal for building a nuclear power reactor with Chinese aid in the NATO-member nation.


              Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan who is the first prime minister to visit china in 27 years, held talk with Chinese premier Wen Jiabao.

              The two sides several agreements, including enhancing nuclear cooperation.
