Samsung Likely to Start Manufacturing Galaxy S4 in India

Yesterday Samsung India announced that very soon it will start manufacturing its newly-launched high end smartphone device Galaxy S4 in India. Currently Samsung is the leading smartphone making company in the Indian market in matter of overall profits.

Mr. Vineet Taneja, who is the active Country Head of Samsung Mobile and Digital Imaging, was talking to the reporters in a recent press meet."We are planning to start manufacturing of S4 soon at our Noida facility," he said at the meet.

However Mr. Taneja declined to share any estimated time frame by when the production of the device will likely to start. It has to be added here that currently the Noida facility is manufacturing around 35-40 million devices per year, including various high end smartphones like Galaxy S3.

Samsung launched its Galaxy S4 in India on 26th April of this year, and currently the company is importing these S4 devices from South Korea.

Bollywood legends including filmmaker Yash Chopra, Rajesh Khanna and playback singer Asha Bhosle are among those likely to be honoured with Dadasaheb Phalke Academy Awards on April 30 at Bhaidas Auditorium in suburban Vile Parle in Mumbai.

Living legend Asha Bhosle will be honoured with the Phalke Ratna Award for her continuous contribution in the field of music for last five decades.

While Late Yash Chopra will be conferred with the Dadasaheb Phalke Academy Award for his services to the Indian film industry, his wife Pamela will receive the Saraswatibai Phalke Award on his behalf.

United Bank of India Likely to Expand its Businesses in Overseas

Archana Bhargava, the new Chairperson and Managing Director (CMD) of the State-run United Bank of India, said that her bank is likely to expand its overseas businesses to increase the brand value.


Archana Bhargava, who is the new Chairperson and Managing Director (CMD) of the State-run United Bank of India, stated that her prime strategies to ensure the overall brand value of the bank would be a massive expansion plans in matters of overseas businesses.

She added that the bank would surely apply for around 8 to 10 overseas branch licenses from the parent body i.e. the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) in the upcoming months. She didn’t neglect the fact that the profit margin of the overseas businesses for the bank has been low over the years.

On April 23 of this year Archana Bhargava has taken over the position of CMD of United Bank of India. Recently she had her first interactions with the media and press, and she handled it quite well in deed. Following is a small excerpt from what she actually said while interacting with the media.

Samsung Finally Launched its New Galaxy S4 Model in India

The leading smartphone making company Samsung has finally launched its brand new flagship smartphone, which is named as Galaxy S4 in India on 26th April. This launch is basically an integral part of the global rollout of the same device.

This launch is basically an integral part of the global rollout of the same device. The Galaxy S4 has eventually gone on sale in the markets the United Sates (US) and some European countries.


Earlier Samsung hasn’t revealed what would be the cost of the device in Indian market. There were speculations that it might cost a little more than Rs 40,000. Today the South Korean technology giant launched the device in Indian market with a price tag of Rs 41,500. From tomorrow noon it will be available in retail stores as well as online for all common people.

The company stated that by the end of this month the newly-launched device will go on sale in over 50 countries. The experts are expecting that it will be able to take over the whole smartphone market with a very successful launch period. It has to be mentioned here that Samsung has eventually reported a profit of 42% in the last quartet, which is simply incredible.

IMF Reduced India’s Economic Growth Rate to 5.7 percent from 5.9 percent for 2013

IMF reduced the economic growth rate of India from 5.9 percent to 5.7 percent for 2013, in its latest release in World Economic Outlook.


International Monetary Fund (IMF) reduced the economic growth rate of India from its earlier prophecy of 5.9 percent to 5.7 percent for the year 2013, in its latest release, which has been published on 16th April 2013 in World Economic Outlook (WEO).

The IMF slashed its projection for India established on the prominent essential challenges faced by India, which would decrease the promising output possessing inflation elevated by regional reasons. IMF also forecasted that the underlying Indian economy could recover following the information given by the Union and the improvement in external demands. All these depend upon a better monsoon season, solid consumption, external demand and improvement in policy making.

Chinese Bank ICBC on Top in Forbes Global 2000 List

Chinese bank ICBC managed to claim the top position of Forbes Global 2000 list after defeating Exxon Mobil of United States in the race.


On this Wednesday the Chinese bank ICBC successfully pushed back oil giant of United States (US) Exxon Mobil from its coveted position as the World’s largest public sector company. ICBC managed to claim the pole position of Forbes Global 2000 list for the very first time since its inclusion in the list.

Chinese companies have done really well in context of profit making and asset building in the last year, and for that good reason now these companies are happily claiming the top positions in global rankings list. Eventually China Construction Bank (CCB) has also moved up to 11 spots from last year to the 2nd position on the Forbes list of world’s biggest public sector companies.

One of the prolific editors of the list Mr. Scott DeCarlo quoted, “This year's list again reveals the dynamism of global business."  According to him the overall look of global business has changed drastically over the years, and it has become more aggressive now than earlier.

India Signed a New DTAA with Malta at Valetta

It will also stable the tax system & will reduce any obstacles in providing mutual bilateral cooperation between India and Malta.

Korean Psy’s New ‘Gentleman’ Video Rewrites YouTube Records

                 Korean singing superstar Psy, who has already popular for his unique ‘Oppa Gangnam Style’, has recently uploaded his new video on YouTube. The video is named as ‘Gentleman’, and it had already generated more than 44 million views on the largest online video streaming website YouTube by this Monday only.

Eventually the new video has already rewritten YouTube’s record for a single day views. It has to be mentioned here that the ‘Gentleman’ video was posted on YouTube at 1200 GMT (9.00 P.M. IST) on Saturday only, and it was the follow up music video to highly popular “Gangnam Style” of the South Korean singing superstar.

The new ‘Gentleman’ music video has been able to gather around 20 million hits in the first 24 hours only. It literally abolished the previous YouTube record for the single day hits of 8 million, which was set by the Canadian pop star Justin Bieber's "Boyfriend" music video launched in May 2012.

Manipal Group Signed a MoU with Durban University of Technology

Manipal Group with the support of FirstRand Bank signed a MoU with Durban University of Technology to expand its business in South Africa.

ISRO is planning to launch the heaviest rocket ever in 2014 on an experimental flight. the later (better too) version of that rocket might be used to human beings on space missions, which would be quite a revolutionary achievement in the space research field for modern India.

The said rocket is likely to touch the sky in next January of the upcoming year. According to some relevant sources the Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle-Mark III (GSLV-Mk III) might be used to put in orbit communication satellites that are weighing between four to five tonnes. This simply means that this vehicle will eventually pack lots of transponders per launch.

BlackBerry to Shut down BBM Music Service from 2nd June

The global smartphone maker BlackBerry informs that it is in the process of shutting down its popular streaming music service named as BBM Music. This music service is in active for almost two years since its launch, and it will stop working from 2nd June, 2013.

Eventually this week the BlackBerry sends an email to all the subscribers of BlackBerry Messenger Music to inform them that the cloud-based music service will not work from 2nd June. Now days RIM, which renamed itself to BlackBerry earlier, is in the process to boost its overall profit, and regain the lost glory in the market.

On Thursday the Canadian handset maker clarified this decision by saying that this is a follow up of “strategic business review” of its offerings. BlackBerry is wiping out this music service may be because of the not so much earning (read profits) from it.

Current Account Deficit Soars Record High to 6.7% in Q3

Country’s Current Account Deficit (CAD) has soared into record heights of 6.7% of total GDP in 3rd quarter of the financial year.


Country’s Current Account Deficit (CAD) has soared into record heights of 6.7% of total GDP in 3rd quarter of the financial year. The reason for this high deficit is the heavy oil and gold imports and some muted exports in that time being.

Eventually this current scenario will force the Government of India to take more necessary steps to contain the deficit, and provide the Indian economy some soothing airs. Already Finance Ministry has taken some key measurements to control the situation, and boost up the economic growth.

In the quarter of October to December the CAD widened to $32 billion from $20 billion in the same corresponding quarter of the previous financial year. Last year the Current Account Deficit for the Q3 was 4.4 percent of total GDP.

India Post to Set Up 3rd Automated Mail Processing Centre in Hyderabad

The new centre will be set up near the International Airport, which is situated at Shamshabad. The project will cost around Rs 60 crore in total to go live. Eventually this Automated Mail Processing Centre will come up with the ability to sort 30000 mails per hour.
