Apple’s iPhone has been dominated the United States (US) market over the holiday season, which includes the Christmas and new year eve, and it also continued to gain a complete growth in the early months of 2013 too.

On this Wednesday a latest survey revealed that Apple’s iPhone has managed to outpace its arch rival Samsung and various other smartphone making companies that use the well-popular Android operating system of Google.

The survey has been conducted by comScore, and it covers the time period of November 2012 to January 2013. The survey showed that Apple has able to hold a huge 37.8 per cent of the overall smartphone market of United States, and this is a clear cut increase of 3.5% from the previous three month period. So the sales of the iPhone has really boosted up in the last festive season for sure.

Eventually Apple’s nearest rival Samsung has also increased its market share, but it managed to do it on a slower pace than Apple. The South Korean technology company Samsung grabbed 21.4 percent of the total US smartphone market. Samsung held the percentage of 19.5 previously.

Basically these two companies have completely ruled the smartphone market in the said time region. These two are well ahead of the other smartphone makers like HTC and Motorola. Taiwan Company HTC has held the third position with 9.7% of market share in the US, while Motorola held 8.6% and South Korean LG 7% in total.

Last month only China’s Huawei Developed World’s Fastest Smartphone to give a tough competition to the Apple and Smartphone. Even BlackBerry joined the league by unveiling BlackBerry 10 to the world. BlackBerry maker RIM also renamed itself to BlackBerry to give its products a proper branding.

If we went by the trend of past year, Apple had been losing its ground in the global market to the Android system of Google, but the latest data showed that during the period Apple has managed to reverse the latest trend to some extent, at least in the US market for sure.

The total share of Android products slipped a mere 1.3 points and it settled at 52.3 percent, while Apple’s iOS has received a major gain of 3.5 points to settle at 37.8 percent, comScore revealed. BlackBerry hadn’t been able to perform well in the time being, as it slipped to 5.9 percent from the previous 7.8 percent. Even the Windows phone, which has been developed by the tech giant Microsoft itself, had seen a mere fall to 3.1 percent. It has to be mentioned here that Microsoft released its operating system for Windows Phone 8 in the ending point of October, 2012.

In September 2012, Apple introduced the upgraded version of its iPhone series, named as iPhone 5 in the US market. It also announced various discount features for its existing products just after the launch period. This helped the tech giant a lot to strengthen the grip over the US market, and established it.

Even the percentage of people having an Android increased in the mentioned period. The comScore Survey said that 129.4 million people in the US owned at lease a smartphone in the time being, which is an increase of clear 7 percent from the October 2012.
