IT firm Wipro has topped the Greenpeace list of greener electronics company.
The tech giant private sector IT firm Wipro has topped the Greenpeace list of greener electronics company. Wipro has managed to top in its maiden appearance in the list of ‘Greenpeace’s Guide to Greener Electronics’. It’s quite a big achievement for the company, as it surpassed global giants like Apple, Samsung, Dell and Nokia etc.

To tackle the ongoing problem of ‘Global Warming’, all the major companies have decided to go green in order to save the environment for the generations to come. The list has been made just to encourage the process and to acknowledge the efforts of the companies.

According to the Eighteenth version of Greenpeace’s Guide to Greener Electronics, Wipro has topped the mentioned list, which comprises 16 electronic companies across the globe. These companies have been able to make entry in the list with the help of their commitment and progress in three key environment criteria. Those three criteria are energy and climate, greener products and sustainable operations.

Wipro has managed to hold the position as it has scored most of the points with the help of its ongoing efforts to embrace renewable energy and advocacy for greener energy policies in India. The time has come when the world must think about the alternative energy source. The need of making renewable energy is rising day by day. Wipro has understood it, and starts working accordingly. This is a commendable job in deed.

Wipro also scored quite well due to its post-consumer e-waste collection for recycling and for phasing out hazardous substances from its products. These are the things which will reduce the pollution level, and make the world a better place to live in.
