RIM renamed itself BlackBerry, unveiled BB10

Research In Motion (RIM) has renamed itself BlackBerry while unveiling their brand new smart phone BlackBerry 10.

Research In Motion (RIM) has renamed itself BlackBerry while unveiling their brand new smart phone BlackBerry 10 on a gorgeous press conference. RIM is trying to make a comeback in the smart phone market with its brand new model. Once the smart phone market had been completely dominated by RIM, but later the popularity of BlackBerry phones had decreased significantly. On the press conference RIM has promised that the BlackBerry 10 devices will wow customers and businesses alike when they finally hit stores.

For the last few years Apple and Samsung are majorly dominating the smart phone market of across the globe. RIM is taking them on with the help of its new BB10 devices. They desperately want to make this come-back trail a successful one by signaling a fresh start. That’s why they have decided to change the company name to BlackBerry from Research In Motion (RIM). The Chief Executive of the company Thorsten Heins said that RIM was abandoning the name is has used since its inception in 1985. He added that from now on the company will just be known as BlackBerry.

Mr. Thorsten Heins replied a few more questions, which were mainly asked by tech analysts and other key guests. After the press conference the shares of RIM rallied initially on Wednesday but very soon it fell into levels about 7% below of Tuesday’s close. The two new smart BlackBerry 10 phones are named as Z10 & Q10. These devices will have to compete with Apple’s iPhone and other devices that uses the Android technology of Google’s especially the Galaxy phones of Samsung.

The new device of BlackBerry has many key features like super fast browsing and smart cameras. Unlike the previous BlackBerry models it enters the market primed with a large app library including the video calling services such as Skype and popular games like Angry Bird. These features will surely help the company to attract the customers and to bring back the lost glory.

Both the two new devices are sleek black numbers, one of which has a large ‘qwerty’ keyboard, which is the trademark of BlackBerry phones. This time RIM designs the other model that looks much like those its competitors have already produced with full touch screen facility. Now time will tell whether these new stems would become beneficiary for the company or not. It has to be mentioned here that the BlackBerry phones still have respect in the overall market.
