India and Austria signed a MoU on Technology Cooperation recently

India added a new MoU to its kitty recently.  This time India signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Austria. The MoU is on Technology Cooperation in the Shipping and Ports Infrastructure Sector, which is one of the sectors which need to be upgraded for obvious reason.

Doris Bures, who is the Austrian Federal Minister for Transport, Innovation and Technology, signed the MoU with G.K. Vasan, who is the Minister of Shipping, Government of India. It was signed in the capital of the Country, New Delhi. Both the Minister expressed their excitement about this mutual cooperation.

India and Austria have a very friendly relationship. There has been regular exchange of high level visits between the two countries. Both the countries help each other a lot. India and Austria put on a special emphasis to strengthen economic and commercial cooperation and scientific cooperation. G.K. Vasan recalled this beautiful traditional relationship in his speech.

Austria has proved its importance many times, as it has an active role in various International Organizations. It is located in the heart of Europe. It also has historical linkages and legacy too. Austria is also well placed to serve as a gateway to emerging market economies in Central and East Europe.

It has to be mentioned here that Shipping is the World’s most efficient means of transportations. It is continuing its dominance over the years. So it’s a huge responsibility of the Ministry of Shipping to take good care of Indian Shipping Infrastructure. The Ministry should take necessary steps to recognize, reward and promote quality whenever and wherever it is found within the Industry.

The MoU will eventually make way for mutual sharing appropriate know-how, scientific knowledge and research and development capabilities between the two countries.
