CHINA DONATES 1 MILLION USD TO REVIVE NALANDA UNIVERSITY




                UPA government’s efforts to revive the great Nalanda University got a serious boost when China gave a cheque of 1 million USD for building a Chinese-type library. It is marked as the first donation for the ambitious project.

              Chinese Ambassador to India Mr. Zhang Yan formally handed over the cheque to the Vice-Chancellor designate of the University Gopa Sabhawal, fulfilling a commitment made by Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao during his visit to India in 2010.

               The event came on a day when the new logo of the proposed instituion that represents Asian interconnectivity and harmony between man and nature was unveiled.
